The First Notes

The New Orleans Volunteer Orchestra (NOVO) was created in March of 2012 by two young and aspiring conductors from Loyola University. After it's  conception, NOVO quickly exploded into the largest community orchestra in the region.

After the pandemic, NOVO returned under a new name, Symphony of New Orleans (SONO). Under the direction of one of the original founders, SONO continues to strive to provide meaningful educational and professional opportunities to the collegiate and post-collegiate community in New Orleans through musical excellence.
